PREOCCUPATIONS — ECHOPLEX — 11.4.2022

It was a cold, brisk Friday night, but the energy of the crowd, band, and booze kept everyone warm while inside the venue. The psych-rock group Hot Garbage and noise-pop drag queen Cindy Lee both opened for the legendary post-punk connoisseurs the Preoccupations (Formerly Known as the Viet Cong) and made some great euphonic noise to start the evening. The audience erupted into chaos when the Preoccupations finally came to the stage. At the show’s peak, when the band began performing a few tracks from their critically acclaimed (formerly) self-titled release Vietcong, the crowd exploded into a frenzy that turned into a frantic, yet fun, mosh-pit. All in all, it was an awesome show.
